Touching Lives. Protecting Children.
In 2008 Safe Kids Greater Augusta provided injury-prevention education to 5,764 children and 6,255 adults. This included:
- Checking 239 car seats for proper installation and use
- Providing 110 car or booster seats to families who could not otherwise afford one, including five special-needs seats
- Providing eight local schools with Risk Watch Program and materials
- Distributing 500 small parts testers
- Distributing 160 bike helmets
- Distributing 1,000 pedestrian reflectors
- Distributing 2,000 outlet safety covers
- Distributing 10,000 pieces of educational literature
