Sports Medicine Outreach Program
Sports Medicine Center has an established outreach program that provides Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC), to meet the needs of the recreational, scholastic and collegiate athletes throughout the CSRA. Georgia Regents Medical Center's Outreach Program provides services which include daily coverage of practice and all home events, as well as special events in the community.
Athletic Trainers are a vital member of Georgia Regents Medical Center's medical support staff for all types of athletes in all areas of sport. What makes ATC's unique is their on-field medical setting where they perform injury evaluations, rehabilitation, and injury prevention. Georgia Regents Medical Center's athletic trainers develop and maintain the overall physical fitness of athletes and assist athletes in achieving a high level of fitness necessary to compete successfully.
Georgia Regents Medical Center's athletic trainers work closely with physicians, coaching staff and/or school nurse in evaluating athletic injuries, providing information on the management of injuries and returning the athlete safely to his/her sport. ATC's also set up prevention programs, including strengthening, conditioning and flexibility training. Georgia Regents Medical Center's Sports Outreach services provide educational opportunities for students, coaches and other members of the community on various topics.
