Children's Hospital of Georgia's pediatric hematology and oncology team works with children diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders to provide the multidisciplinary care they need right here in the Augusta, Georgia area. The Children's Hospital of Georgia Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorder Clinic staffs pediatric hematologists/oncologists and pediatric nurse practitioners who diagnose and treat all types of cancer in children which includes leukemia’s, lymphomas, tumors of the brain and spinal column and solid tumors. The center also treats children with hemophilia, sickle cell disease and other blood and clotting disorders. Both the clinic and Children’s Hospital of Georgia are staffed by specialized nurses in pediatric hematology and oncology to deliver excellent care.

<span id="ctl00_cphcontent_ctl00_rptLoosePageData_ctl00_lblContent"><span id="ctl00_cphcontent_ctl00_rptLoosePageData_ctl00_lblContent"></span></span> <p></p> <h2> </h2> <h2>The Center offers:</h2> <ul> <li>Participation in clinical trials for the treatment of childhood cancers through Children’s Oncology Group.</li> <li>Multidisciplinary care by highly skilled pediatric oncologists-hematologists, surgeons , radiologists, and nurse practitioners  supported by a medical social worker and registered dietician.</li> <li>Chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery and blood transfusions.</li> <li>An inpatient pediatric cancer unit.</li> <li>An outpatient clinic and day infusion center to reduce the number of admissions.</li> <li>Advanced, on-site diagnostic technology including a PET scanner.</li> <li>An oncology pharmacy staffed by pediatric pharmacists.</li> <li>Pediatric infusion and aphaeresis, or platelet-replacement therapy that come from a single donor.</li> <li>A pediatric neuro-oncology clinic at which patients and their families can meet with their pediatric oncologist, pediatric neurologist and pediatric neuropsychologist on one day and in one place.</li> <li>Genetic counseling and testing.</li> <li>An after-therapy clinic, for childhood cancer survivors,  that delivers follow-up care and helps patients maintain the best possible health status.</li> <li>A pediatric sickle cell disease program.</li> <li>A pediatric hemophilia program.</li> <li><a href="/georgia-radiation-therapy-center/grtc">Radiation Therapy Center</a>.</li> <li><a href="/neuroscience-center/gamma-knife-center/gamma-knife-center-home">Gamma Knife</a> for inoperable brain tumors.</li> <li>Stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy, to treat cancer with a single high dose of radiation.</li> <li><a href="/childrens-hospital-of-georgia/childrens-hospital-of-georgia-community-programs/camp-rainbow">Camp Rainbow</a>, a summer camp for children with cancer.
