James Mumford, MHSA, FACHE

Administrative Director of Pediatrics

James (Jim) Mumford, MHSA, FACHE, joined the Children’s Hospital of Georgia in 2008 as administrative director of Ambulatory Pediatrics and Network Services. With this talents and expertise in pediatrics, he assumed a larger role and is currently the administrator of the Children’s Hospital of Georgia and Pediatric Practices.

Before joining Georgia Regents Medical Center, Mumford served as the hospital administrator and chief administrative officer of Tod Children’s Hospital and Physician Practices at Forum Health - Western Reserve Care System in Youngstown, Ohio. Prior to that, he served as corporate director at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee.

He earned a master’s degree in health services administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati and graduated cum laude from St. Meinrad College in St. Meinrad, Indiana, with a Bachelor of Arts in Arts & Sciences. Mumford also earned an AA in business management from National College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a Certificate in Medical Technology from Community College of the Air Force at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas.

He faithfully served our country as a medical technician in the United States Air Force and is a long- serving fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Mumford serves on the board of directors for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Augusta and Coordinated Health Services; Inc.  He is a recipient of the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Air Force Inspector General’s Medical Service Award.
