Dr. Mourad (Waleed F. Mourad, M.D) is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology (DABR) (i.e. board certified radiation oncologist) who has been recently appointed as associate professor at the Department of Radiation Oncology and Co-leader of Head and Neck Multidisciplinary Program at Georgia Regents University (GRU), Medical College of Georgia (MCG), and GRU Cancer Center.

Dr. Mourad joined GRU after he spent 4 years as a Radiation Oncologist at the Continuum Cancer Centers of New York, Beth Israel Mount Sinai, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed multiple fellowships in image guided radiation therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), Head and Neck, Brachytherapy, intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center of the University of South Florida, University of Mississippi Medical Center, Beth Israel Medical Center, St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, and Montefiore Medical Center.

He is the recipient of many awards including the Young Oncologist Essay Award, Young Oncologist Travel Award, and Roentgen Fellow Research Award (RSNA) Research & Education Foundation for outstanding fellows in radiologic research. Dr. Mourad is nationally and internationally known expert in head and neck tumors, HIV/AIDS related tumors, and benign diseases using the state of the art IGRT, IMRT, IMPT (proton therapy), and SRS.

His clinical research has been recognized and presented in many national and international media news, American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG). He has numerous publications, more than 130 presentations and textbook chapters. His clinical research has been presented in many reputable national and international exhibitions. Dr. Mourad has trained extensively in brachytherapy procedures for head and neck cancers and intraoperative radiation therapy program (IORT). He started a comprehensive radiation oncology program at GRU for head and neck tumors including brachytherapy and IORT to locally advanced tumors, recurrent tumors, and previously irradiation patients.
