Facet joints
These are the posterior/lateral joints between vertebral bodies. They serve to limit motion between adjacent vertebral bodies. Wear and tear on these Facet joints may cause them to enlarge and form bone spurs. This can be associated with nerve root compression and Spinal canal stenosis or narrowing.
