Interspinous ligament
This is actually a series of ligaments located between the spinous processes. These ligaments prevent the spine from bending forwards beyond safe limits. Injury to the Interspinous ligaments may result in instability due to reduction of the natural posterior tension band preventing forward displacement of the spine.
