Ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL)

This is a pathologic condition where degenerative changes in the spine may cause the posterior longitudinal ligament (PLL) to become thickened, or even calcified. Ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) may result in Spinal canal stenosis (or narrowing) with compression of the spinal cord or nerve roots.
