The Reverend W. Jeffrey Flowers, M.Div., D.Min, BCC  
Reverend Dr. Jeff Flowers is the Director of Pastoral Counseling for Georgia Regents Medical Center.  He oversees the chaplaincy program that serves the patients of the hospitals and clinics and also serves to offer support to the campus of the Georgia Regents Medical Center.  He currently serves on the board of the Institute for Medicine and Religion, the Board of Directors for Georgia Health Decisions, and is a frequent lecturer in the five schools of the Georgia Regents Medical Center campus in the areas of Grief, Medical Ethics, and Spirituality.  He serves as an Instructor for first year medical students in the Essentials of Clinical Medicine course and teaches an elective titled Spirituality and Medicine.

A graduate of Mars Hill College, Reverend Flowers earned a BA degree in Religion and Philosophy and was awarded the Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.  He completed two years of training at Baylor University Medical Center in the Clinical Pastoral Education program and served as a Chaplain Coordinator at Baylor for 10 years. He has completed work on the Doctor of Ministry degree through Erskine Seminary with a dissertation topic, “The Role of Spirituality in Academic Curriculums in Medical Schools.”  Reverend Flowers has served in his present position since 1994.  He is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains and serves as a board member of the Georgia Healthcare Chaplains Association.
