Chaplain Grace Henry

Chaplain Grace Henry a native of California came to Georgia in 2009. She received her nursing degree from Cecil College in North East, Maryland. After raising a family and experiencing the empty-nest stage of life, she entered an Episcopal convent in Augusta, GA and learned both the active and contemplative life there as a nun. Sister Grace volunteered at two local hospitals in Augusta as chaplain and completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education through the CSRA CPE Consortium, a joint venture of Georgia Regents Health System and the VA Health System.

Currently she serves as a full-time chaplain in the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, Georgia Regents Health System and Georgia Regents University.   Her passion is to be at the bedside with patients and to offer counsel and support to staff, students, and families in difficult and celebratory moments of their lives. Her training as a palliative hospice nurse as well as pastoral care provider has been most valuable in journeying with patients and families through the death and dying process. She offers an individualized and creative approach to each person she meets. She loves to play the piano, travel and explore many religions and cultures.  Grace is a living example of a work in process.
