Better Imaging = Better Diagnoses and Treatments
It’s simple: Better technology means better images. And the imaging technology and experienced radiologists at GRHealth are second to none. That means when you or your family member need an X-ray, MRI, CT scan, ultrasound or other radiological exam, your images are clearer. They’re more precise. And it means your doctor can more accurately diagnose or treat your condition, every time.
We also partner with local physicians and community hospitals to provide their radiological exams. We work together to improve patient care, one patient at a time.
We’re focused on achieving the highest-resolution images — all leading to better patient care. GRHealth recently partnered with technology leader Philips to create the first business model of its kind in the U.S. Through this $300 million public/private partnership, patients at GRHealth will benefit from the latest technology and innovations in radiological care, including new imaging systems, advanced patient monitoring, educational resources, and more. Not only do we have one of the largest radiology departments in this region, but 100 percent of our board-certified radiologists specialize in specific areas of the body or specific techniques. This means they are leaders in their field in detecting even the smallest problem on an image. You can also find many of our radiologists ranked among the nation’s best in America’s Top Doctors® and the Best Doctors in America®. ^
In 2012, GRHealth became the first health care facility in the Aiken-Augusta area to receive American College of Radiology accreditation in all advanced radiology services, including:
The ACR gold seal of accreditation stands for the highest level of image quality and patient safety and is only awarded to facilities meeting specific guidelines, technical standards, and a peer review evaluation.^
Rooms that light up in different colors, bright murals, and other kid-friendly touches? As part of the region’s only children’s hospital, our radiology staff knows how to “kid” around — and ensure your child is comfortable throughout his or her radiological exam. We also offer full sedation for both children and adults when needed. ^
As a teaching hospital, we teach our residents and students the latest information about radiological care. As a result, we take the lead on new protocols when it comes to safety. Our radiologists and technologists use the minimum amount of radiation to perform a high-quality exam, every time. ^
Our outpatient radiology services offer flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays, for your convenience. And in the event of an emergency, you can rest assured that precious minutes won’t be wasted: Our radiology staff is present (not simply on call) in the hospital 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the event of a trauma or other case when an exam needs to happen STAT. ^
