Eye Clinic

The Eye Care Center started early in the Patient-and Family-Centered Care process by involving patients and family members in renovating our area. The council chose the furniture, carpet, fabrics and wall hangings which have made the center quite a showplace. However, our first formal FCC meeting was in May of 2007. Since beginning, we have been traveling on a joint path to improvement and our opportunities continue to abound. Our patients and families are clearly partners in this adventure and help keep us focused on the best way to provide care.

Our advisory board members represent our many specialty services, various geographic area and reflect our commitment to cultural diversity. They are responsible for our creative and winning interventions and participating in the development of future strategies and plans. Our achievements reflect our joint commitment and successful working relationship. Our members have consistently attended, participated and focused on moving forward highlighting plans for our center. Our success is very much due to our advisory group and shared with us. It has been a source of inspiration for us.

Our Vision

Our staff was very much a part of this process and they designed a statement that represented our commitment and summarized the strategy for providing state of the art, compassionate caring services to our patients.

Our Goal: to partner with our patients by establishing an advisory group to assist us in providing better services, better care, better communication, improved planning and address problems, obstacles and concerns.

Projects

  • The renovation of Eye Care Center to expand patient care areas.
  • Established lunch and learn opportunities for patients, families and staff about eye related topics.
  • Designed a volunteer program for the Eye Care Center to enrich communication with our patients.
  • Introduced a number of modifications for low vision patients.
  • Initiated innovative ways of making our waiting grooms pleasant.

Excellence: Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise. Risking more than others think is safe. Dreaming more than others think is practical and expecting more than others think is possible.
