Volunteer Application Form

Concierge Escort
Greet visitors as they enter lobby area; provide appropriate non confidential information to families and visitors; escort patients to designated areas as needed; answer phone and transfer calls as indicated; provide directions related to departments and locations within the hospitals and clinics; provide information related to community resources; ensure adequate number of wheelchairs available.
Hours: 7:00am-5:00pm

Family Resource Library Volunteer
Greet library visitors and assist with locating resource materials from a variety of sources (Internet, books, journals, etc); log in returned material and catalogue new resources per protocol; take magazines and book cart to patient care areas per established schedule; assist with FRL-related special events in the library and designated patient care areas; maintain physical appearance of FRL and insure materials are accessible to visitors.
Hours: 9:00am-2:00pm

Labor and Delivery Volunteer
Assist with patient admission and discharge processes as directed by staff members; transport supplies, equipment, and medications to designated areas within the hospital; assist clinical staff with daily duties; assist with clerical duties such as answering phones, assembling charts, and retrieving medical records; assist with escorting patients and families to waiting areas and patient care areas; provide appropriate, non-confidential information to families and visitors; act as liaison to patients and visitors through effective communication and interaction.
Hours: Flexible

Outpatient Assistant
Answer phones, take messages, transfer calls; accurately process and file confidential & non confidential information; provide patient support by communicating wait times to patient/family members; assure waiting area is clean and neat with sufficient magazines, brochures, handouts, etc; attend to visitors needs and make them as comfortable as possible with waiting and direct any problems to manager for needed intervention; assist staff with various clerical tasks as needed including filing, answering phones,
running lab specimens, data entry, etc.; restock exam rooms with gloves, gowns, magazines, etc.; participate in various projects to including providing help with bulletin boards and packet prep, large mail outs, etc.
Hours 9am-4pm

ICU Family Support Volunteer
Assist families with emotional support and information sharing regarding the ICU protocols, visiting hours, special need and resources; direct / escort visitors/family members to designated areas such as the ICU, family shower room, dining area, etc.; maintain physical environment of waiting areas to insure the area is clean, neat, and supplies are available for families and visitors at all times; serve as liaison for unit staff and families to share appropriate information as needed; assist staff and patients in the unit with non-medical needs.
Hours: 8am-Noon
