Hand Hygiene Campaign

Hand Hygiene is a primary patient safety issue and one that Georgia Regents Health System has been routinely monitoring our compliance since 2008. Since implementing this monitoring program, our compliance rates have steadily improved through the education of our patients, families and staff. Current compliance rates, including weekend observance, are now consistently in the 90th percentile.

Each nursing unit’s hand hygiene rates are shared in the monthly Quality Unit Council dashboards. The staff is able to review the data and make improvements to consistently be at or above 90% compliance.
