Augusta, Georgia Nationally Renowned Adult and Pediatric Epilepsy Center

Since 1977, the Georgia Regents Medical Center Comprehensive Epilepsy Program has been a nationally recognized referral center and has performed almost 1,200 epilepsy-related surgeries. The National Association of Epilepsy Centers recognizes the Georgia Regents Medical Center Comprehensive Epilepsy Program as a Level IV center, the highest designation given. Patients and their families benefit from the most up-to-date technology available. Health professionals in neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology, nursing and EEG technology provide a full range of diagnostic services, medical treatments and surgical procedures.

Over two million people in the United States are diagnosed with epilepsy, a syndrome marked by recurrent seizures. As a result of new medical and surgical advances, freedom from seizures is now a realistic possibility for most patients with epilepsy. 

The Adult Epilepsy Program works to control or eliminate seizures in adult patients by providing efficient, comprehensive, high-level care with a specialized team of neurologists.

The Pediatric Epilepsy Program offers complete diagnostics, treatment, and seizure control or elimination to children through adolescence.

As a Medical Surgical Level IV Epilepsy Center, the Georgia Regents Medical Center Epilepsy Center is actively involved in epilepsy research and offers access to clinical trials of new epilepsy medications and medical devices to control seizures.
