Spasticity Clinic

MS Clinic, Georgia Regents Neuroscience CenterThe spasticity management service offered at the Augusta MS Center evaluates adults with spasticity for individualized treatment with oral muscle relaxers, Botox injections, intrathecal baclofen pump therapy, or physical therapy.  Our patients include those with Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Cord Injury, and others with spasticity that cannot be controlled with oral medication alone.  Our spasticity team evaluates the patient’s needs for therapeutic intervention and possible baclofen pump placement,  a treatment that is delivered directly through the spinal fluid by a surgically implanted pump. This surgical intervention procedure is performed by Dr. Vender, one of the neurosurgeons at the Georgia Regents Medical Center.
