Advanced Care for Brain Cancer by Skilled Neuro-oncology Team at Georgia Regents Medical Center
Neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, radiation oncologists, medical neuro-oncologists and other caregivers deliver responsive, coordinated care for tumors of the brain or spinal column or neurological complications of cancer. Brain tumor and spine tumor patients are seen quickly and treated by a team of skilled and experienced neurosurgeons and oncologists in the Cancer Center.
Our expert physicians rely on advanced diagnostic equipment, including single photon computed tomography (SPECT) and stereotactic biopsy, to diagnose tumors in hard-to-reach areas of the brain. Surgical options include traditional surgery and Gamma Knife Radiosurgery for operable and inoperable tumors. Georgia Regents Medical Center’s Neuro-oncology Services also integrate care with the multidisciplinary Skull Base Tumor Center.
Access to ongoing research and clinical trials
As the region’s only Academic Medical Center, Georgia Regents Medical Center patients benefit from the medical discovery that is at the very core of our care. Our physicians seek medical solutions through research and innovation to improve outcomes of care. Cancer patients have access to ongoing research and clinical trials, including phase 1 trials not available at other area hospitals.
