Samm Anderegg, Pharm.D., MS, BCPS

Samm Anderegg is the Pharmacy Manager of Ambulatory Care and Oncology Services at Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy.  As a pharmacy administrator at Georgia Regents, Dr. Anderegg is responsible for oncology and ambulatory care operations, clinical services, revenue cycle management, co-manages specialty pharmacy services, and serves as secretary of the Oncology Pharmacy and Therapeutics Subcommittee.  In his academic role, he lectures, participates in research, and precepts residents and students.  Samm has been active in several professional pharmacy associations including the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists.  He is also involved in national initiatives concerning health information technology.  Dr. Anderegg serves as the chair of the Value Set Committee and is a member of the Professional Service Documentation and Coding Workgroup within the Pharmacy HIT Collaborative.  The Collaborative is a coalition of pharmacy associations and their members working to ensure pharmacists’ role of providing direct patient care is integrated into the national HIT interoperable framework.  In addition, Dr. Anderegg is co-creator of the mobile app, PACT (Pharmacy Ambulatory Care Intervention Tracker), designed for ambulatory care pharmacy documentation and intervention analytics.

Samm grew up in Charles City, Iowa and graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.  Dr. Anderegg completed his post-graduate residency training in a Health-System Pharmacy Administration program (PGY1/PGY2) combined with a Masters in Health-System Pharmacy at the University of Kansas.

Tad Gomez, M.S., R.Ph., FASHP

Tad A. Gomez, R.Ph., M.S., is the Vice President of Professional Services, Georgia Regents Medical Center and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. He was the Director of Pharmacy and Director of Pharmacy Residency Programs for the health system from 2003 to 2013. Mr. Gomez earned his B.S. Pharmacy from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas and his M.S. Hospital Pharmacy from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. He also completed a 24-month Pharmacy Practice Residency with an emphasis in Health System Pharmacy Administration at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Tad’s pharmacy experience includes serving as Pharmacy Manager at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida and Director of Inpatient Pharmacy Services at Harris County Hospital District in Houston, Texas, and Director of Pharmacy at Georgia Regents Medical Center from 2003 until his September 2013 promotion to the Vice President position. He was selected to participate in the inaugural class of Georgia Regents University’s Executive Leadership Excellence Program in 2013.

Tad has served as Chair of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Council on Pharmacy Management (2006-2007) and was an invited Professor of Pharmacy to Misr International University College of Pharmacy in Cairo, Egypt in 2008 and 2010. He has also served as a member of the Novation Pharmacy Executive Council (2008-2010), a member of the University Health System Consortium Pharmacy Council Executive Committee (2010), Chair of the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Managers Section Advisory Group on Leadership Development and Treasurer of Southeastern Pharmacy Residency Conference (2005-2011).

Christy M. Norman, M.S., Pharm.D., BCPS

Christy Norman became the Administrative Director of Pharmacy for Georgia Regents Medical Center in February 2014 after previously serving as Pharmacy Manager for Clinical Services. Christy also holds an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia, College of Pharmacy. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Georgia, Athens, GA and her M.S. in Health System Pharmacy Administration from The Ohio State University. She completed a 24-month Specialty Practice Residency in Health-System Pharmacy Administration at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Christy was awarded the Tim Moore Award from The Ohio State University, College of Pharmacy, for outstanding performance in the Masters in Health-System Pharmacy Administration program. Christy joined the Georgia Regents Health System team in July 2008. From 2008-2010, Christy was responsible for inpatient adult central and clinical operations, supervision of clinical pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, controlled substances management, and manufacturing and packaging. From 2010 until fall 2014, she has been responsible for the management of clinical services, serves as the coordinator for Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committees, chairs the Medication Error Prevention Committee, and coordinates the Department of Pharmacy’s performance improvement initiatives. In her manager role she had been providing a Drug Information and Administration experience for pharmacy students and Drug Policy/Administration experience for PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents. She continues to serve as the preceptor for Pharmacy Administration/Pharmacy Management.

Christy is an active member of the Georgia Society of Health System Pharmacists (GSHP), serving on the Education Committee. The pharmacy newsletter she and Dianne May produce for Georgia Regents Medical Center was recognized by GSHP as the outstanding health-system pharmacy newsletter in Georgia (October 2012). She is co-author of a chapter on Pharmacy Operations in the first and second editions of the textbook Pharmacy Management, Leadership, Marketing and Finance on Pharmacy Operations (covering workflow, practice activities, medication safety and technology). Christy is also an active member of ASHP, ACCP, the University Health-system Consortium (UHC) Supply Chain Committee, and the Novation Pharmacy Distribution & Analytics Advisory Group. She has been a frequent speaker at GSHP statewide educational meetings, with topics including the Pharmacy Practice Model Initiative, drug shortages, and management of alcohol withdrawal.

Marjorie Shaw Phillips, M.S. R.Ph., FASHP

Marjorie Shaw Phillips, M.S., FASHP, is Pharmacy Manager (Clinical Research and Education), Georgia Regents Medical Center and Clinical Professor, University of Georgia College of Pharmacy.  A member of the Pharmacy Leadership Team, her practice includes clinical research pharmacy and coordination of technician students and observers for the pharmacy department.  After serving as the Pharmacy Residency Coordinator for nine years, Marjorie became the PGY1 Program Director in 2008.  She also precepts a Pharm.D. rotation in Clinical Research/Investigational Drug Services (APPE).   From 1995 to 2010, she served as the Chair of the health system Medication Error Prevention Committee (MEPC) and she continues to be actively involved as a member of MEPC.  The MEPC is an interdisciplinary group whose focus is review of local/national medication error reports and hospital efforts to improve medication safety and increase event reporting in a non-punitive environment.  She has been a member of the Georgia Regents University Institutional Review Board (IRB) for 23 years, and after 13 years as a Vice-Chair became Chair of GRU IRB-C in January 2015.  She is a member of the Georgia Regents University Cancer Center and serves on the Protocol Review and Monitoring (Scientific Review) Committee for the Cancer Center.

Marjorie received her M.S. in Hospital Pharmacy from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and completed a two-year hospital pharmacy residency at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in 1984.  The next six years were spent practicing hospital pharmacy, with an emphasis in quality and performance improvement, at two Florida hospitals (Shands-UF/Gainesville and Memorial Hospital-Ormond Beach).   In 1990, she joined the pharmacy staff at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) Hospitals and Clinics (the organization that later became MCG Health and Georgia Regents).

ASHP service includes Chair of the House of Delegates (2003-2006), Board of Directors (2002-2006), House of Delegates, Council on Organizational Affairs (1991-1994), Ad Hoc Committee on Policy Development, USP Advisory Committee, Section of Clinical Specialists Communication and Education Committees and drafter for two ASHP Guidelines.   She is Past President, Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists and Eastern Shores Florida Society of Hospital Pharmacists, and a past Board Member and Committee Chair for both FSHP and GSHP.  In 1997, she was GSHP Pharmacist of the Year.  She served on the Steering Committee for the Southeastern Residency Conference from 2000 to 2011 and completed a five-year term as Treasurer in 2005.

Her professional contributions also include over 40 publications and 70 presentations (on varying topics including medication safety, performance improvement, team-building, and clinical trials compliance) and several book chapters (quality improvement, medication safety).  She served two five-year terms on the USP Safe Medication Use Expert Committee (2005-2010), as Vice-chair for the second term, and continues as an Expert Consultant for USP.  Marjorie was recognized by the UGA College of Pharmacy with its Distinguished Service Award at Homecoming 2011 and was appointed to the FDA Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee in fall 2012.

Erinn Rowe, PharmD, MS

Erinn Rowe is the Pharmacy Manager for Decentralized Services at Georgia Regents Medical Center (unit-based pharmacists, operating room satellites). Dr. Rowe obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Georgia in 2008 and went on to complete the Health System Pharmacy Administration (HSPA) residency at the University of North Carolina Medical Center (UNCMC). She also received her MS degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). She worked at UNCMC from 2010-2014, serving as a Clinical Manager over the Sterile Products Area, Controlled Substances, and Pharmacy Surgical Services. She served as a preceptor for PGY1 and PGY2 HSPA residents, PGY1 pharmacy practice residents, fourth year APPE students, and was the coordinator for the first year UNC IPPE students. While in North Carolina, Erinn was a member of the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists and also sat on the Financial Performance Committee of the  University Health-System Consortium. She joined the Georgia Regents team in September of 2014 and is leading efforts to enhance the pharmacy practice model at the medical center.

Sara Wolf, PharmD, MS

Sara Wolf is the Pharmacy Manager for Central Services at Georgia Regents Medical Center.  Dr. Wolf graduated from the South Carolina College of Pharmacy with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree.  She then went on to complete a two year Health System Pharmacy Administration residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.  During her residency Dr. Wolf obtained a Master of Science degree in Health System Pharmacy Administration from the Northeast Ohio Medical University. She has been active in professional pharmacy organizations including the Ohio Society of Health System Pharmacists where she served on the Communication Division and is a current member of the Georgia Society of Health System Pharmacists. On a national level Dr. Wolf is a member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists and serves on the Practice Advancement and Advocacy Advisory Group for the New Practitioners Forum.  Career interests for Dr. Wolf include optimizing pharmacy operations, improving medication safety, advancing pharmacy technology and automation, and incorporating pharmacy extenders into the practice model. Dr. Wolf recently joined the Georgia Regents Pharmacy team in August of 2015 and is excited to start her career here.
